Client:  Ciné Institute, Jacmel, Haiti
Ciné Institute is Haiti’s only film school. Established in 2008, it grew out of a film festival, Festival Film Jakmèl, which ran for 3 years in Haiti. I created a colorful identity system (first for the festival and then adapted for the school) across multiple media platforms which featured crisp, positive imagery putting the students themselves in the spotlight and creating a professional, clean and uplifting identity that is recognized all over Haiti and now around the globe. The youth in the logo is playing a traditional hoop game, popular in the Caribbean, signifying the placing of film into the hands of Haiti’s youth who are in turn empowered to use it to improve their lives and tell their own stories.
